WIN Corporate Program: “Inclusion in Action: Closing the Gender Pay Gap”

Gender equality is a pressing issue and despite a huge amount of attention, the gender pay gap has in fact widened across the last 10 years. Women earn on average about 20% less than men do and increasingly, companies are being asked to go further to prove that they offer equal opportunities for compensation and advancement to both men and women.

Together we want to zero in on what the root causes of pay inequality are and what possible key actions can be taken to address this – from both an organizational and individual perspective. The ½ day program will include presentation of the latest findings including research by PwC, a presentation by the equal-pay foundation as well as a practical workshop. Networking with purpose and sharing best practices across companies will guarantee high quality learning and inspiration to action.

2018 Women’s Empowerment Principles Forum

Empowering women to participate fully in economic life is essential to build stronger economies and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities. The private sector has a central and active role to play in achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Development is about how we all choose to do business and how we reflect principles of equality on an everyday level, so they permeate our cultures, values, performance and business practices.

In the spirit of advancing the crucial role of the private sector to achieve Goal 5, UN Women and UNGC join to organize the Annual Women’s Empowerment Principles Event. The event will take place in New York in March 2018 and will provide a platform for presenting ongoing, successful business initiatives that aim at women’s empowerment, economic inclusion and entrepreneurship globally.
