Conversation with Justice Sonia Sotomayor

At Seneca Women's Conversation with Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Fast Forward Girls club leader Hannah Oblak interviewed the Justice on her background, perspective and finding purpose and passion in life. Among the attendees were more than 50 girls from 15 different area high schools; the Justice also took questions from them. The event was hosted in conjunction with iCivics, a non-profit founded by Sandra Day O'Connor to engage children in civics through online games and Virtue Foundation.

For the second year in a row, Seneca Women hosted the Fast Forward Women’s Innovation Forum at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The event brought together leaders like Chelsea Clinton, Nobel Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus, designer and philanthropist Diane von Furstenberg, Grameen America CEO Andrea Jung, P&G’s Group President for North America Carolyn Tastad and Mary Robinson, the former president of Ireland. Also featured: the leaders and members of Girl Scout Troop 6000, created for homeless girls in New York City.

International Women's Day at Coca-Cola

In celebration of International Women's Day, Ambassador Melanne Verveer and Kim Azzarelli led a discussion and workshop on the principles of Fast Forward: How Women Can Achieve Power and Purpose at Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta. The event also showcased public-private partnerships and other initiatives that enable women to use their power for purpose, as well as panel discussions with Coca-Cola leaders.

Moving, meaningful and inspiring conversations about women, power and purpose took center stage at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on September 17 during Seneca Women’s Fast Forward Leadership Forum. Listeners heard from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor; fashion designer and philanthropist Diane von Furstenberg; UN Women executive director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka; Grameen America CEO Andrea Jung; Stewart Schwab, faculty director for the Cornell Center for Women and Justice; and Dr. Denis Mukwege, founder of Panzi Hospital, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he is repairing the lives of thousands of women who were subjected to brutal violence. The Forum’s speakers were interviewed by Seneca Women co-founders Melanne Verveer and Kim Azzarelli.

Seneca Women at Davos: Roundtable on Partnerships for Good

Breakfast and panel hosted by Seneca Women's Melanne Verveer and Kim Azzarelli

This session will feature a panel discussion to showcase ideas from thought leaders on how the world can fast-forward women's economic participation in 2016 and about the programs that are succeeding. The conversation will include discussion of the recent McKinsey report, “The Power of Parity: How Advancing Women’s Equality Can Add $12 Trillion to Global Growth.”
